Getting started

Able Wellness is an app for iPad and Android tablets. It brings together movement, recipes, games and moments of calm in one place.

  1. Set up Able. Tell us whether you're starting for yourself or someone you support, and give us an email address.
  2. Get the app on your tablet. Install Able on your iPad or Android tablet.
  3. Open Able and sign in. Installing the app doesn't sign you in by itself. Open it and sign in with the same email address.

If you start on a computer, we email you the steps so you can carry on from your tablet.

Signing in

Able doesn't use passwords. You sign in with your email address, and we send you a 6-digit code.

How long does a code last?

A code works for 10 minutes. If it runs out, ask for a new one. Only the newest code works.

The code hasn't arrived

Give it a minute, then check your spam or junk folder. Make sure the email address is spelled correctly. You can always ask for a new code.

It says the code didn't match

Check you're using the latest email, as an earlier code stops working when a new one is sent. Type the 6 digits again, or send a new code.

I installed the app but I'm not signed in

That's expected. Installing doesn't sign you in. Open Able and sign in with your email; we'll send a code, or you can use the link in your email.

I changed my email address

Send us an account request, from your current address if you still can. Tell us the new address, and we'll move your account to it once we've checked it's you. Your activities, preferences and history move with it.

Tablets and phones

Able's activities are made for tablets: iPad and Android tablets. The larger screen makes videos, recipes and games easier to see and use.

Family members and helpers can use the family app on iPhone and Android phones, as well as tablets. On a phone, the family app is for the family circle: seeing the moments someone chooses to share, reacting with a tap, and sending a kind word back.

Able is designed around the standard iPad (the iPad 11-inch) and also runs on other recent iPads and Android tablets. It works best with your device's latest system updates installed. If Able won't install or open on your tablet, contact us with the model and system version, and we'll help.

Your trial and membership

Before launch

The new Able Wellness app is launching soon. Nothing is for sale yet: join the launch list and we'll email you when the 30-day free trial opens. Joining the launch list starts nothing: no trial, no billing, no card.

Start with 30 days free. No credit card required, and no automatic charge when the trial ends.

Will I be charged after my trial?

No. Your trial does not require a payment card. You will only be charged if you choose a paid membership.

What does it cost after the trial?

If you qualify for the launch offer, the first participant is $19.90/month for the first 12 paid months, then $24.90/month. You can instead pay $199 for the first year, then $249/year. Additional participants are $7.90/month or $79/year each. All prices include GST.

See full pricing

Can I subscribe before the trial ends?

Yes. Your payment and membership start straight away. Any remaining trial days end when you subscribe.

What happens if I don't subscribe?

Your account stays available, along with a smaller free selection. You'll need a membership for the full membership library.

Can I cancel?

You can cancel renewal and keep your membership until the end of the period you've paid for. Read how cancelling and refunds work in our terms of use.

Is this the price for an organisation?

No. Organisations are priced per year, per home, resident or client, with their own inclusions. See organisation pricing.

Setting it up for someone you support

Choose Someone I support when you start. We'll guide you through setting up the appropriate access.

The membership is for the person using Able's activities. You can add more participants at a reduced price. Family members and helpers use their own logins, so everyone signs in as themselves.

Family and helper access

Family and helpers see the moments someone chooses to share: what they cooked, how they moved, what made them smile. They can react with a tap, or send a kind word back.

Do I pay for each helper?

No. Membership pricing is based on the people using Able's activities. Appropriate family/helper access does not have a separate charge.

How do I invite a family member?

Send us an account request with the name and email address of the person you'd like to invite, and who they'll be supporting. We'll set up their access and send them an email explaining how to sign in with their own email address.

Can I stop sharing with someone?

Yes, at any time. Send us an account request and tell us who should stop seeing updates. We'll remove their access, and they won't see anything shared after that.

Ask Able beta

Ask Able beta helps you find selected Able activities, recipes and calm content, and get help using the app. It works with supported requests such as "a short seated activity" or "a vegetarian dinner".

Who is Ask Able beta for?

Ask Able beta is for eligible paying adults aged 18 and over who are separately enrolled. Paying for Able does not automatically guarantee beta access. We'll explain availability and usage limits before you join.

Is it included in the free trial?

Live Ask Able is not included in free accounts or the free trial.

Can I use Ask Able for my child or someone I support?

Ask Able beta is for adults using their own participant accounts. Buying a membership for someone else does not give you Ask Able access about them, and children are not included in this beta. Appropriate family/helper access to the rest of Able is a separate part of the membership.

Does it give health advice?

No. It won't give medical advice or decide which activity is safe for your health circumstances.

Will app help still be available without live AI?

Ordinary app help and accessibility features remain available. They are separate from live Ask Able and its usage allowance.

Themes and text size

Able has three themes: light, dark and high contrast. Choose one with the Appearance control. It has four options:

  • Match my system follows your device's light or dark setting. This is where everyone starts.
  • Light
  • Dark
  • High contrast uses the strongest difference between text and background, with clear borders.

On this website, the Appearance control is at the bottom of every page. In the app, the same four choices are in your profile, and on the sign-in screen so you can change it before you sign in. Your choice follows you to whichever device you sign in on.

Text size

On this website, use your browser's zoom to make everything larger. Pages rearrange into one column as you zoom, so you don't need to scroll sideways.

In the app, text starts large, and Able follows the text size set on your tablet. On an iPad, go to Settings, then Accessibility, then Display & Text Size, then Larger Text. On an Android tablet, open Settings and look for Font size or Display size and text; the exact names vary between devices.
